The examples featured here exhibit my writing, page design and layout abilities. The programs I am most familiar with for page design and layout are Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, which I used for all of the following documents.

HNTB Sales Conference Graphics

I was asked to create a number of graphics to go along with a presentation and printed materials for a sales conference given by my current employer, HNTB Corporation. The presentation discussed the success of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) practice in Michigan. I used Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to lay out these graphics both in large format (24"x 36") and for a printed booklet of presentations from the conference.

MDOT I-94 Truck Parking Proposal

Truck Parking Proposal - Adobe PDF document
HNTB Michigan does the bulk of its work for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Each project starts with a Request for Proposal (RFP) for which HNTB repsonds with a proposal. Proposals are generally the responsibility of HNTB's Marketing team, but due to the time of year this RFP was released, I got the opportunity to coordinate this proposal myself. I worked with a number of firms and several HNTB offices to gather information to respond to the RFP. I formatted the proposal based on HNTB corporate templates using Adobe InDesign. I was involved in the writing and editing of this document and also collected and formatted the resumes that appear in it. Unfortunately, this project was rebudgeted by MDOT and was never awarded.

Little River Wetlands Project Brochure

As a member of the fundraising committee with LRWP, I am also on the marketing subcommittee. LRWP was lucky enough to have two design interns plus myself to help them with branding. The website, brochure, maps, signs, and stationery are all in the redesign process. I was asked to work on the brochure, and chose Adobe InDesign to complete the redesign. A number of the photos in the brochure are my own.

Interpretive Nature Trail Signs

Reptile and Amphibian Sign - Adobe PDF document
I was asked to join the interpretive sign committee at Little River Wetlands Project. A total of five signs were designed for this project, and I was charged with designing the two animal related signs. The layout was done in Illustrator. A number of the photos on the signs are my own, namely the tree swallows, northern leopard frog, and garter snakes. The final signs are 24" x 36" and are posted on the trails of Eagle Marsh.
