I was asked to gather and write some information on a project HNTB was designing for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) to send to several publications. My article also appeared in a different form in the the May 2007 issue of Thinking Highways.

I wrote and assembled this entire special issue of the ITS News for the Michigan Department of Transportation Intelligent Transportation Systems Statewide Program Office. I attended the Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan's (ITS Michigan) Annual Meeting and Expo with HNTB, and worked with MDOT and HNTB staff to create this issue summarizing the expo. I also did all of the layout for the newsletter using Adobe InDesign. I was charged with creating the ITS News by the director of the MDOT ITS program. I completed the design, layout, editing, and the bulk of the writing for all issues. All issues of the MDOT ITS News can be found here.

My project focused on electronic portfolios and their use in the field of Technical Communication. The proposal discusses pertinent literature on the subject and lays out the methods I would use to do a study on this subject. The writing style of this document reflects my abilities in academic writing.
